TRAMPOLINE PARK
Get fit while having fun!
Enfield just had its new Trampoline Park approved by the Council.
Trampolining burns as many calories as running, but is much more fun! NASA research states that 10 minutes of jumping burns as many calories as 30 minutes of jogging, and the impact on limbs is reduced by 80% whilst improving the strength. Trampolining can be used to improve core strength, to tone your body or for cross-fit training.
Trampolining has become one of Britain’s fastest-growing pastimes…now it’s reaching Enfield!
The brand, which was inspired by the vast – and vastly popular – trampolining parks of America specialises in providing facilities to answer a full range of trampoline attractions – from guided fitness classes, to frolics and fun for those who wish to simply lark about. There’s even a trampoline dodgeball league for those who like to get truly physical!
The new Enfield Trampoline Arena is the first park of its kind in North London; the new park will follow the brand’s existing model, catering for up to 110 jumpers at any one time.

CRITICISM OF ENFIELD COUNCIL’S CUSTOMER SERVICE
Customer Services at Enfield Council being criticized - too slow to answer calls and often nothing happens.
Members of the public contacting the Customer Service call centre have to wait up to 42 minutes to get through to an officer for assistance. Coming in person makes little difference as the queues are often out the door.
The Council replied that they ‘have embarked on a transformation period, it is a big programme, so it is not really surprising given the efficiencies that bits of the car are falling off as we go. On the front desk, queues have been unacceptable and tempers have been frayed. This whole process is under constant review, and if we need more people in the call centres we will do that.’

URINETOWN – THE MUSICAL
In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs.
Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
Saint Monica's Players present Urinetown, an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny. Its wickedly modern wit gives it a sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.

DRIVE IN BUS LANES
The number of people fined for driving in bus lanes has more than doubled in the past year in Enfield. According to figures obtained by the Enfield Independent, 27,524 people received Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) of £130 for offences relating to bus lanes in the past year - up from 12,606 in 2014/15.
If they were all paid in full it would mean Enfield Council have raised £3,578,120 in the past year, on top of the cost of all other parking tickets and driving fines.
Money raised from issuing bus lane fines has to, by law, be spent on transport projects. The council said it puts surplus money towards road safety and other transport projects, as well as subsidising concessionary travel for disabled and older people.

10,000 NEW HOMES IN ENFIELD
Enfield will be creating 10,000 homes, and 6,000 permanent and 10,000 temporary jobs on its flagship £3.5 billion development project Meridian Water.
The project will include a new railway station, shops and other community facilities in a beautiful waterfront setting.
As one of the biggest developments in the United Kingdom and one of the largest housing developments in London it will also play a major role in helping to ease the housing crisis in the capital.
Meridian Water has already been given housing zone status by the Government meaning it will be easier and quicker to provide new housing on the site than would be normal.
But the scheme will also see significant investment in the area’s community facilities and transport links which will improve connectivity between north London and the Lee Valley corridor and help to add an estimated £3 billion to the UK economy by 2036 by stimulating growth elsewhere in the region.

LITTERING
Enfield Council has raised £1.5m from fines over the last 5 years from people dropping litter on public streets. This is the most of any council and 150 times the national average of £10,000.
Enfield’s litter enforcement teams were nicknamed “the Black Watch” when they began. However, they now have many local supporters.
Said Daniel Anderson, Enfield council’s cabinet member for environment, “We make no apology for targeting those who drop litter, adopting a zero tolerance approach. It is essential that a strong uncompromising message is sent out that makes it abundantly clear that littering is not ‘normal’ and anyone who sullies our environment should be treated with the contempt and disdain that they truly deserve.”
Remember to keep your litter with you – certainly when you are out and about in Enfield!

Ever wondered where Bonsai mini-trees come from or how they are grown? Bonsai is ‘living art’ based on sound horticultural principles; most trees live outside all year round and are rarely grown from seed as life is too short.
This exhibition – which is organized by North London Bonsai Group – is an opportunity to get a taster for this unique hobby with displays, advice, demonstrations and sales.
When: Sunday 27th March 2016 between 10.00am – 4.00pm.
Where: Capel Manor Gardens, Bullsmore Lane, Enfield EN1 4RQ. Phone 08456 122 122 ext 1200.
Click here or on the picture for information about the exhibition; click here to be redirected to the North London Bonsai Group website.

We will always provide you with a copy of this guide before you sign the AST so you can use this as a checklist; however, you can also access it by clicking here.
There are certain additional criteria when you live in a shared house – click here for an overview of these.
You are welcome to contact us for additional information or if you have any questions.
