Polly Rawlings oversees the day-to-day running of Beautiful Rooms.
In her own words:
“I am passionate about being the best that I can be and have a deep seated belief that I am in the world to make it a better place for myself and others. I enjoy travel, cultural activities, exhibitions, music and theatre and particularly to share with others.
My most important values are to make a difference in a positive sense – from small things each day to the bigger things in life, such as providing good quality homes for people to live in.
I also value living with integrity, making a positive difference, always learning and improving myself, always seeking the positive in relations with others and having fun. I have previously worked as a Nurse/Counsellor, specifically with people with psychiatric and behavioural problems and in the field of addictions. I have also worked in the pharmaceutical industry, project managing clinical trials in multiple countries around the world.
I regularly read, study, and attend seminars, workshops and presentations by motivational presenters so that I can stretch myself to be the best I can be. I work towards maintaining my fitness, health and general wellbeing, most specifically by being a runner and have participated several half marathons and once even the London marathon!
For many years, I have found properties appealing and intriguing more from a design perspective until I realised that I could actually be a part of the business of creating homes for others to live in. This led to a huge amount of research and an exciting property business.
I firmly believe that anything is possible and choose to live accordingly”.

Thim Engel is Company Director and owner of Beautiful Rooms.
In his own words:
“I want to make a difference in a positive sense – be it towards people directly e.g. our tenants and our handymen, indirectly e.g. managing people/teams, or even more indirectly, as a physician, by developing new medicines which the population will benefit from.
I get motivated from adventures/exploring new avenues/newness in general; learning new skills; and to 'better' things in general. Also by working with and being among other people and from seeing the benefits of my contribution.
My most important values in life are integrity; reliability/credibility and making a positive difference; learn/improve matters; having trust in others; always seek the positive in relations with others; seek to establish win-win relationships; have fun, and love / care for / and listen to others. I firmly believe that anything is possible.
I regulary work towards maintaining my fitness, health and general wellbeing.
I have previously worked as a senior executive within the pharmaceutical industry globally. I have managed teams and departments with up to 180 people. After a 20+ years with a successful career, I established my own consultancy and interim management company in 2008, Developing 2Morrow’s Medicines (D2MM Ltd).
I am a formally trained and experienced professional coach and a registered physician with the General Medical Council.
I am passionate about travel, good food & wine. Also, culture, exhibitions, classical music, theatre and cinema.”
